I love woodworking and of course 3D printing. I have bought oak and mahogany filament to find out what I can do with it. It is so cool that you can create complex ‘wooden’ shapes which are otherwise impossible or extremely difficult to make. I have created this business card holder out of mahogany filament and it came out pretty good.
It is recommended to use a nozzle of 0,5mm which is slightly bigger than the usual 0,4mm and I recommend buying a set of small drills for when the nozzle becomes blocked. When it does, heat it up with a burner while holding it with pliers until the clogged filament melts and give it a good smack on the table to get everything out. Then you can use a 0,5mm drill to widen it up a little.
