This mod replaces the existing controller and display with a generic BigTreeTech SKR3 main board and TFT50. This is meant as an experiment to see if this would be possible and what it would take to make this happen. This could enable different possibilities like printing at higher temperatures and adding features that aren’t otherwise available. If you want, you can turn it into a laser engraver.
Everything is reversible, so technically speaking you can get back to the original printer, assumingly without losing warranty. However, this mod is pretty extensive, especially replacing the extruder, so bear in mind that it is not straightforward to go back and will probably void your warranty anyway.
