Grinder with swappable system
Suggested price: €3.00
Summary
I made a Swappable hot end on which this grinder can be placed. I intentionally placed the female version of the d sub connector at the tool side because the mixed male version fits a regular female one and not vice versa.
The tool this holder is designed for is the RS PRO 398D PCB Drill https://nl.rs-online.com/web/p/miniature-power-drills/0547616 which costs under €30,-
This grinder which runs at 12V which is the same voltage as the part end fan which I use to control this drill so you don’t have to enable it manually. Just send M106 and M107 to enable or disable this grinder.
I have just uploaded a 2020 t-slot plate which is an ideal build plate if you want to mill, drill of grind things with your printer.
I have made a video about this upgrade and it shows how I create a PCB with it. Have fun watching!
Print Settings
Printer: Creality CR-10
Rafts: No
Supports: Doesn’t matter
Resolution: 0.2
Infill: 20%
Filament: Nylon CF
Notes:
As with my other tool holders it is printed with this carbon fiber reinforced nylon but I think it should work with other materials too. I am not sure about PLA since this part must be strong enough to handle the forces. I think PETG or ABS should work.
Mounting instructions
To prevent the printer going into error state you can connect a 100k resistor at the thermistor connections. The printer will measure 25°C.
If you want to add this to your printer you need the Quick tool change.
